This Privacy Policy describes how CapperIndex.com (“CapperIndex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the website at capperindex.com and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly
- Email address, when you join the waitlist, create an account, or contact us.

Information collected automatically
- Usage data such as pages visited, time on page, referring URL, and approximate geographic location derived from your IP address. We use Vercel Analytics for this; Vercel Analytics does not use third-party cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
- Device and browser data including browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device type.
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 5 below.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate your account and secure your subscription access.
- Process payments and manage subscription renewals.
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
- Send administrative emails (e.g., receipts, service changes, security notices). These are not marketing emails; you cannot opt out of them while maintaining an account.
- Send occasional product updates to subscribers and waitlist members. You can opt out of these at any time from the email footer or by writing to us.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers. We use third-party vendors to run the Service, including: Stripe (payment processing), Vercel (web hosting and analytics), and Neon (database hosting). These vendors process data on our behalf under contractual data-protection obligations.
- Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. If CapperIndex is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent. We may share information in any other manner you explicitly authorize.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you request deletion or until we discontinue the waitlist (whichever is earlier). Billing records are retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary cookies to authenticate your session and remember that you have logged in. Disabling these will break core functionality.
- Analytics via Vercel Analytics, which uses privacy-preserving aggregate measurement and does not set third-party cookies. No individual visitor is identified.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers for retargeting. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; doing so may affect your ability to use parts of the Service.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., billing records we are required to retain).
- Portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, write to admin@capperindex.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30 to 45 days).
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the additional rights to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your California rights, email admin@capperindex.com.
Residents of the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing your personal information are (a) the performance of a contract with you (for account and subscription data), (b) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service (for usage data), (c) compliance with legal obligations (for billing and tax records), and (d) your consent (for marketing emails). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration. These include encrypted connections (TLS), hashed password storage, signed session cookies, and access controls on our infrastructure vendors. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 21. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us.
9. International Data Transfers
CapperIndex is operated from and hosts infrastructure in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the updated Policy on the Service, update the “Effective” date above, and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
