An index for a market that refused to have one.

Sports handicapping runs on two currencies: screenshots and trust. Neither survives contact with a spreadsheet. CapperIndex is the spreadsheet.

We track fifteen verified handicappers across every major North American sport. Every pick is timestamped before the game starts. Every result is graded against the posted closing line. At the end of each week, INDEX cappers who fall below the merit cutoff drop to the Farm and top Farm cappers move up to take their seats. A capper needs 20+ graded picks to qualify for the INDEX and 10+ to qualify for the Farm.

We do not run a sportsbook. We do not accept wagers. We are a performance index — a ranking engine — built to answer one question the handicapping industry has spent decades refusing to answer clearly: who is actually good?

What we do

We collect, verify, timestamp, and publicly grade the picks of every capper on our roster. We compute a composite score each week — 60% weighted on units won, 20% on win rate, 20% on risk-adjusted return — and rank the pool against itself. The top fifteen form the Index. The next fifteen form the Farm. Every Sunday at midnight Pacific the bottom of the Index drops to the Farm and the top of the Farm is promoted up to the Index. No appeals. No favorites. No exceptions.

Subscribers see the current pending picks from the Index. Everyone sees the historical record. That split is intentional: the picks are the product, but the track record has to be public or the product is worthless.

What we are not

We are not a tout service. We don’t sell anyone the idea that sports betting is a reliable income source. It isn’t. Most people lose. Losing is the mathematical default in any market with a vig.

We are also not a sportsbook, a bookmaker, a broker, or a financial advisor. Nothing on this site is financial advice. Nothing on this site guarantees results. We publish numbers. What you do with those numbers is your decision.

Who runs this

CapperIndex is operated by a small team that prefers to stay behind the numbers. We come from backgrounds in quantitative finance, software, and sports data. Our only incentive is that the ranking is honest, because a dishonest ranking has no product-market fit.
